Project Overview

Dash is a cryptocurrency that focuses on every day spending. When many people think of crytpo, they think of Bitcoin, which is more of a long term investment. Dash strives to take it a step further and provide digital cash that is easy to spend.

I created this custom coin design as a part of their campaign to increase the number of Dash accepting merchants.

From Sketches to Vector to Paper Prototypes & High Fidelity Mockups…

This project required lots of planning, research and testing in order to ensure the final coin was perfect. The design includes a custom tamper proof sticker to protect a QR code on the back that links to actual digital cash. As mentioned above, we ended up using this coin as a free gift to new Dash merchants as a part of a larger marketing campaign.

One of my favorite projects to date!

Designing this coin took me slightly out of my comfort zone – I’d never designed something like this before. However, the challenge only motivated me, and I now keep the coin on my desk and admire it frequently! I love the way it turned out and now I’m itching to design more custom coins! Props to Arden, Brian, and Chris at Dash Core Group who contributed to this amazing project. 🥳
